Student Resources

i-Ready

Students can use i-Ready to practice math skills.  If they have already taken a placement test with me at school, they can use this program.  i-Ready is going to help them progress from where they tested.  They will see lessons and then they can practice the new skills.  They can keep a browser open to translate any words they don’t understand in the word problems.  The username will be their lunch number.  The password will be their lunch number.  Select North Carolina as the state.  Then click “Go.”

USA Learns

USA Learns is a free online program that is designed to help adults learn English.  I think it is also good for our beginning ESL students in middle and high schools.  My students are all registered with their school email and lunch number as their password.

Starfall

Starfall is for elementary age students, but it is good for learning the letter names and sounds.

ABCya!

ABCya! also provides practice in basic elementary skills, but this can be very helpful to English language learners.

Raz-Plus (Reading A-Z)

This is a wonderful reading program that helps students improve their reading skills and vocabulary in English.  Students should listen, read, and then take the quiz for each book.
